🇩🇪 Live from the World Organic Forum in Germany
Today, Happy Ground is excited to be attending the World Organic Forum in Germany. It's been an incredible day so far, connecting with farmers, sustainability leaders, and innovators from around the world, including Germany, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Canada, Korea, Nepal, India, and Ghana.
Here’s what we’re learning and what’s inspiring us as we continue our mission to drive regenerative agriculture and climate action in Thailand.
Collaboration is Key to Building a Sustainable Food System
One of the key takeaways from today’s discussions is the power of collaboration in building a sustainable food system. It’s clear that regenerative agriculture isn’t just about farmers—it’s about bringing together scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, consumers, and corporations. At Happy Ground, we are focused on fostering collaboration to create an ecosystem where everyone plays a role in nurturing the environment, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Beyond Organic: The Power of Regenerative Agriculture
Today, we’ve been diving deep into how regenerative agriculture goes beyond organic farming. While organic practices are crucial, regenerative practices focus on improving soil health, water management, and increasing biodiversity—all while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It’s about giving back to the land and making sure it can continue to provide for future generations. This is exactly the vision we’re bringing to our work in Thailand, where smallholder farmers are the backbone of the agricultural landscape.
A Holistic Approach to Carbon Credits
One of the most exciting discussions today was about carbon credits. While they are an important tool in climate action, it’s important to implement them in a way that also supports biodiversity and community well-being. The discussions today reminded us that carbon credits must go beyond just accounting for emissions—they must also create tangible, positive change for local communities and ecosystems. At Happy Ground, we’re working to ensure that our carbon finance projects deliver real impact, both in terms of climate and social benefits.
Supporting the Transition to Regenerative Practices
Another theme that’s come up today is the importance of supporting the transition to regenerative practices—especially for those who are not yet fully on the regenerative path. We had the chance to discuss with Dr. Franz the importance of involving corporations in this transition and supporting them as they move towards sustainable agriculture. It's not about perfection from day one, but about providing the right tools, resources, and education for a gradual shift to sustainability.
Bringing These Insights Back to Thailand
As we continue to participate in today’s discussions, we are more inspired than ever to bring these insights back to Thailand. Our mission at Happy Ground is to empower smallholder farmers with the tools, knowledge, and financial support needed to implement regenerative practices and build climate resilience. We are excited to take what we’ve learned here in Germany and integrate it into our work, continuing to foster partnerships that support a sustainable agricultural future in Thailand.
Thank you to the World Organic Forum for such an inspiring and impactful event! We’re excited to bring these insights back to our work in Thailand and continue collaborating with global partners to create a more sustainable, climate-resilient future.
